1/22/2021 · For me it was too scooped on its own, but you can stack it with another midrange OD which helps a lot. The Deluxe version of course has a mids knob which helps. The Dirty Shirley has a mids knob so I found that helped a lot so it would be my choice between the 2. They both sound good but I found the Dirty Shirley the most usable of the pedals.

9/20/2019 · The Dirty Shirley is definitely fuller with a more saturated gain structure, where the BE-OD is tighter, more compressed and smoother in its gain character. For what its worth though, if you dial the Dirty Shirley ‘s gain back and hit it with a tube screamer, it tightens right up and sounds more like the BE-OD .
